Hugh Buhrich House

buhrich external journal

Designed & built by the late Hugh Buhrich between 1962 & 72. The house was for his own family and is located on Sugarloaf Point in Castlecrag, NSW. Some of the key elements include the bent timber ceiling pictured above, a form molded red fibreglass bathroom and a precarious concrete spiral stair that would never be approved under current regulations. If you have the time book a Castelcrag walking tour with the Australian Architecture Association (AAA) as they include this house along with other greats from Peter Muller, Harry Seidler and many others. This house is stunning and has held the test of time.
