Christo & Jeanne-Claude’s Wrapped Coast 1969 on Little Bay, NSW. Commissioned as Project Number 1 by Kaldor Public Art Projects, 2.4km long with the cliffs ranging from 46 – 244m high. Constructed with 93,900m2 of fabric with 56.3km of polypropelene rope and installed by 15 professional climbers, 110 workers including architecture and art students from the University of Sydney. These guys are still going strong today with their latest project, a series of orange ‘Floating Piers’ that let you walk on water out to an island in Lake Iseo, Italy. Dangerous but stunning.
